A Walk Through Life

The 2025 PEACE Student Ambassadors Christian Castro, Andy Ventura Culgua, Alex Maltin, Abrar Syed, and Bryan Reyes had an extraordinary inaugural year, culminating in their immersive installation, “A Walk Through Life,” at the Museum of Contemporary Art Long Island (MOCA L.I.). With guidance from educators Jennifer Grasso-Moise, Pam Gustafson, and Sequoyah Wharton, and in collaboration with multi-disciplinary artists Paul Rodriguez, Oya Bangura, and Alina Wilczynski, the students brought a unique vision to life. Visitors could roll dice and walk through one of three “life path experiences,” exploring twists and turns while cultivating a sense of empathy. Participatory and take-home elements allowed audiences of all ages and abilities to engage directly with the students’ bold artistic choices. Through this series of student-driven workshops, the Ambassadors transformed their ideas into an immersive, interactive installation, showcasing creativity, collaboration, and the power of art to spark meaningful experiences for their community.
