PEACE Project: Student Ambassador Program

Where Young Artists Lead Change

Are you ready to take your creativity beyond the classroom? The PEACE Student Ambassador Program brings together standout middle and high school students with professional artists from across Long Island to create community-based art projects that inspire change.

Work side by side with working artists in the visual, performing, and media arts, guided by the Patchogue Arts Council • MoCA L.I. and supported by the U.S. Department of Education.

Where Students and Artists Create Side by Side

The PEACE Student Ambassador Program brings together outstanding middle and high school students, nominated by their PEACE educators, with professional artists from across disciplines, including dance, visual arts, and performance. Selected students join a cohort of peers and working artists at the Patchogue Arts Council • Museum of Contemporary Art Long Island. Over a series of workshops and working sessions, students collaborate to identify social issues that matter to them and design an art project to address the issue. The PEACE Project funds the materials needed and provides the artists to help bring the project to life. The program is fully supported and funded, from materials to mentorship, through the PEACE Project and the U.S. Department of Education. Each cohort’s work culminates in a public event or exhibition, celebrated by the community and amplified by PEACE’s marketing and outreach.

The PEACE Student Ambassador Program gives young people the rare chance to work side by side with professional artists, supported with time, space, materials, and mentorship to create art that speaks to their world.

The Impact

The PEACE Student Ambassador Program gives young people the rare chance to work side by side with professional artists, supported with time, space, materials, and mentorship to create art that speaks to their world.

PEACE Educators are encouraged to nominate students who demonstrate creativity, motivation, and a desire to use their voices for positive change. Parents can feel confident knowing their student will participate in a safe, meaningful program supported by the U.S. Department of Education.

For students ready to use their creativity to make a difference, the PEACE Student Ambassador Program offers a meaningful opportunity to grow as artists and leaders while creating work that resonates within their schools and communities.
