Michael Brunetti

Art Educator

Patchogue-Medford High School

Michael Brunetti is a digital artist and art educator whose work fuses the raw energy of graffiti with the bold expressiveness of cartoons, all grounded in a cubist approach to form and perspective. His visual language is one of rhythm and distortion, often layering fractured shapes and vibrant lines to create compositions that feel both playful and confrontational. His digital works explore the whimsical influence of the cartoons he grew up with, colliding with the noise and distractions of adult life to form a vibrant, often chaotic reflection of memory and modernity.

As an educator, Brunetti is deeply committed to student empowerment and creative independence. He prioritizes choice and voice in his classroom, encouraging students to take ownership of their subject matter and artistic process. By offering flexible, student-centered projects, Brunetti cultivates an environment where learners feel supported to take creative risks and develop a personal artistic voice. His teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed and that meaningful engagement with art can be a powerful tool for personal growth and expression. Brunetti received his bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Maryland and earned his Master’s degree in Fine Art Education from Hofstra University, where he further developed his passion for teaching and contemporary art practice.

Currently teaching at Patchogue-Medford High School, Brunetti continues to develop his own artistic practice while helping students navigate their creative journeys.
