Lisa Mongiello

Lisa Mongiello is an Animal Science Teacher with 15 years of teaching experience at the Bixhorn Technical Center in Bellport, NY. She brings a unique blend of expertise and qualifications to her role, holding a Master’s degree in Education Leadership and being a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2001. This combination allows her to provide comprehensive and practical instruction to her students, integrating both theoretical knowledge and real-world experience in animal care. Additionally, she is a certified Yoga Teacher and holds a Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator Certification. In 2014, she was recognized as

Mutt-i-grees Teacher of the Month for use of the curriculum that ties SEL to shelter pets to positively impact the lives of shelter pets and communities. She was awarded the Eastern Suffolk BOCES Lighthouse Teacher Award in 2018, and most recently, the ACTE Teacher of the Year – New York State 2023. She is a passionate advocate for career and technical education, her students, and the animals to which she has dedicated her career.
