Kimberly Zambrano 

Kimberly is a community specialist, a self-taught artist, and an author who works with children and adults on the spectrum of developmental and behavioral necessities. She was also a researcher at Home School Connections, funded by the Brooke Astor Fund for New York City Education and the Brady Educational Foundation. Kimberly's artist name is SoyKimz. It’s inspired by accepting who you are and the pride in her name. Her work inspired her passion for the importance of children's mental health, recognizing trauma, children’s learning schema, and pediatric care. Her artwork consists of a microcosm of collective memories, graphically capturing various cultural experiences and life events. Kimberly primarily works with pen and ink, acrylic paint, and photography. 

In 2019, Kimberly's art was exhibited in Nassau Community College's Carol Farber Honors Programs office. In 2020, Kimberly’s art was exhibited in the Westbury Arts Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit “Latinx Thriving”. Also in 2020, Kimberly’s art was featured on Newsday from the “Latinx Thriving” exhibition. Her work was also featured on OPUSZINES, Applied Psychology’s creative newspaper at New York University. Kimberly’s written work was also featured on the New York University Home School Connections research team. She was also a co-author of Mujeres que se atreven y superan límites Vol. 2, Historias de inspiración en tiempos difíciles (2022)
